Search engines are the main source of lots of free traffic. So some practice for search engine optimization is needed for every webmaster. When one thinks to optimize his site for search engines he have to basically understand:

The most important factor to me is what one should not do. So i have discussed in this page what one should not do. A few years ago search engine optimization was a easy task. With some little changes it was possible to get a higher position on search results. But now those tricks are not only obsolete but also helps a website to get removed from search engines directory.

Let take a overview WHAT NOT TO DO. This techniques were followed by webmasters previously to make fool the search engines. Such as
1.HIDDEN TEXT: Some webmasters used hidden text for search engine crawler. This type of text cannot be viewed by human eyes. If some one use some white text in white background human eyes cannot read it. But the crawler does. They put some keywords as hidden text for which they wished to get up in search results.
2.EXCESSIVE KEYWORD STUFFED CONTENT: By putting excessive keyword was another technique to get more attention to search engine bots. Putting unnecessary keywords repeatedly not only give a bad impression to users but also help your site to remove from search engines index.
3.EXCESSIVE KEYWORD STUFFED HTML: It was an old technique by putting too many keywords in meta tag. Now Search engines does not rely on those tags too much.
4.DOORWAY PAGES: Doorway page means a page with little or no content with lots of useless link and some irrelevant keywords. As link based page get some attention to search engines some webmasters used it to get up in the search rankings.
5.DUPLICATE CONTENT: Two or more pages should not have same or nearly same content. Sometimes it could be necessary to repeat some content but that should not be
deceptive to search engines.
6.CLOAKING: Cloaking means presenting same page with different url.
But now this type of techniques are worthless and help a website to get banned from search engines index.
